Junior Achievement Uganda

JA Uganda 2011 Company Of The Year Competitions

1. About JA Uganda

Junior Achievement Uganda is an exempt organization under Section 2(bb) of the Republic of Uganda Income Tax Act, Cap 340. Financial contributions to JA Uganda by the business community qualify as Charitable Donations. You are welcome to get involved and financially support this worthwhile cause for Uganda. Looking at the level of work ethics, innovation and proportion of people from whom businesses draw their manpower in Uganda, investing in young people is not only a social obligation, but makes economic sense now.

JA Uganda started operations in 2008 as a member nation of Junior Achievement Worldwide. Junior Achievement programs help to prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs that make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Students put these lessons into action and learn the value of contributing to their communities.

Our Vision

Developed national capacity driven by hands-on human resources.

Mission

To educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise, ethical business practice, become financially literate, and economically independent as a means of improving the quality of their lives.

    Our Goals

  1. Bridge the gap between the classroom theoretical knowledge and the real work place challenges.
  2. Build innovative attitudes for the near future generation to facilitate socially balanced economic growth.
  3. Inculcate ethical business practices, social responsibility and career mapping at a tender age.
  4. Augment national and global efforts towards Education For All and the Reduction of Extreme Poverty.
2. Governance

6. Get Involved

Why Get Involved In JA Uganda?

JA Puzzle

With JA Programs' impact - everyone is an ACHIEVER.

Student

Prepare life after school
Plan your career
Be aware of economic issues
Learn about business in a practical & fun way

Donors

With the demand for JA Programs far greater than we are currently able to provide, we need great support to dramatically increase the number of classrooms reached.
Funding of JA Uganda activities not only helps to nurture an entrepreneur focused culture, promotes economic growth and the national purchasing power not forgetting the grooming of a hands-on workforce.

Volunteer

All we need is your enthusiasm, life experience, and a willingness to teach children about how you took chances and shot for the stars.
Junior Achievement provides the training, curriculum, and a classroom ready to meet you.

Employer

Develop business acumen, Innovative workforce and life skills.
Promote economic growth for a sustainable market.

Teacher/School

Students who participate in Junior Achievement programs demonstrate significant understanding of economics and business concepts; expose your students to learning by doing. When I learn - I forget, when I see - I remember, when I do - I understand.
It is high time your students understand why they are in class and see the relationship between their studies and what they will do in real life.
